Peptides, without the fog.

Peptides include established medicines and experimental compounds. The molecule, route, indication and jurisdiction determine what can responsibly be said. This is a living map of widely discussed names, not a claim that every peptide in research has been catalogued.

Read the status first. An Australian prescription medicine has an assessed indication and product information. A registered trial tests a question. A bottle sold online with “research use” on it is not proof of human safety, quality or benefit. We describe trial doses only when they help interpret evidence, never as self-injection instructions.
Metabolic medicines

Semaglutide (Ozempic/Wegovy), liraglutide (Victoza/Saxenda), dulaglutide (Trulicity), tirzepatide (Mounjaro)

How it works / what is being studied
Approved Australian prescription medicines for specific diabetes and/or weight-management indications. GLP-1 signalling affects insulin, glucagon, appetite and gastric emptying; tirzepatide also acts at GIP receptors.
Timing, dose, combinations and higher-dose claim
Dose, schedule, titration and combinations are product- and indication-specific. Higher dose is not automatically better. Gastrointestinal effects, gallbladder/pancreatitis concerns and current TGA warnings need a prescriber.

Metabolic trial

Retatrutide

How it works / what is being studied
Investigational triple GIP/GLP-1/glucagon receptor agonist studied for weight and metabolic outcomes. Trial data are promising, but it is not an approved Australian product.
Timing, dose, combinations and higher-dose claim
There is no Youtopia self-use dose or timing. The TGA names unapproved retatrutide among products raising safety and supply concerns; track named trials and peer-reviewed outcomes.

Recovery claims

BPC-157, TB-500

How it works / what is being studied
Promoted for tissue repair and injury recovery; mechanistic and animal work should not be mistaken for demonstrated human clinical benefit.
Timing, dose, combinations and higher-dose claim
The TGA identifies these as examples of unapproved products. No validated human dose, timing, combination or higher-dose benefit can be recommended.

Growth-hormone axis

CJC-1295, ipamorelin, sermorelin, tesamorelin

How it works / what is being studied
These are not interchangeable. They act at growth-hormone release pathways; tesamorelin has a specific U.S. prescription indication for excess abdominal fat in adults with HIV-associated lipodystrophy, not general anti-ageing.
Timing, dose, combinations and higher-dose claim
Australian registration must be checked by exact product. CJC-1295 appears on TGA unapproved-product warnings. Dose and monitoring belong to a clinician and the relevant approved label; watch glucose and IGF-1 context.

Skin and pigmentation

GHK-Cu, melanotan II

How it works / what is being studied
Copper peptides are studied in skin and wound contexts; melanotan products aim to alter pigmentation. A cosmetic ingredient and an injectable therapeutic claim are different questions.
Timing, dose, combinations and higher-dose claim
TGA flags unapproved GHK-Cu products. Do not infer safe injection or a reliable higher-dose benefit from topical research; verify route, formulation and trial quality.

Other emerging names

AOD-9604, MOTS-c, SS-31/elamipretide, epitalon, thymosin alpha-1, DSIP, Selank, Semax, PT-141/bremelanotide, kisspeptin

How it works / what is being studied
A discovery list spanning metabolism, mitochondrial biology, immune signalling, sleep, cognition and sexual medicine. Names alone do not convey approval, evidence level or legal supply route.
Timing, dose, combinations and higher-dose claim
Each needs an individual indication, jurisdiction and trial-status review before an evidence claim. This list is for research triage, not an endorsement or dosing menu.

To check an exact Australian product, search the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods. To check an individual trial, search ClinicalTrials.gov and read its recruitment status, population, outcomes and posted results. Future entries will expand each molecule into a full mechanism, study and safety review.
